SALFA Overseas Assistance (SOA) was established in the mid 1980s through significant volunteer efforts. To this day it is still a volunteer organization.

  SOA provides a host of logistical and other support to the medical activities of SALFA. 20 foot sea-containers are the best known form of SOA support. Via these container, as well as through other transportation means, the supply service from SOA is the umbilical cord to spare parts for equipment, dental supplies, solar equipment, donations, etc.
